Applying to College: Essay Writing Workshop

Essays are a critical part of the college application so we invite you to join us for an overview on essay writing. We will go over best practices for writing both your personal statement and school-specific supplemental essays. We will provide a framework for the essay writing process sharing how to properly brainstorm, draft, revise and polish your essays. Finally, we will look through some specific essay examples and analyze what worked and what could have been better.

The workshop will be run by students at Stanford University and Carnegie Mellon University. We recommend the workshop for students in 9-12 grade. Parents are welcome to listen in as well.
